I am a PhD candidate in the field of anthropology and sociology of new media
Previously, I have studied in the field of Literary Studies (BA), Journalism and Communication (BA), Cultural and Globalisation Studies (MA), E-Business (Msc).
- My PhD thesis topic : A sociological and anthropological analysis of the the uses and appropriation of new media by young people
- The dissertation for my Msc in E-Business was on innovation, SME and Social Media Marketing: Diffusion of Marketing Innovations: The Adoption of Social Media Marketing by Small and Micro Enterprises
- The dissertation of my MA in Cultural studies was: Going Global: The Cultural Politics of Globalisation as represented in Narrative Fiction
I worked as an Online marketing & PR manager, Product Manager and also acted as an Editor and a Content Strategist for an International multimedia company. I consulted many companies in various industries ranging from telecommunications, travel and tourism to online apparel.
For the past 5 years, I have been consulting companies in search marketing, online PR and network marketing.
My main areas of research lie in the following:

- Citizen journalism, mobile technology and the future of news reporting
- Organisational culture, innovation and technology diffusion
- Anthropological and cultural studies of marketing and consumption
- Brand development and social innovation network
